Help #1to100 bring higher learning to more young South Africans
#1to100 is a campaign that hopes to open the doors of higher education to young people across South Africa.
This is the third year that Jimmy Nevis and the Blue Collar Foundation, along with the support from Via Afrika, are sponsoring a student’s tertiary education, but there are many more young people out there in need of an education. So we are asking society and businesses to come on board and help us give 100 young people access to higher education.
This year, in partnership with the Geness Foundation, the #1to100 campaign calls on all South Africans to stand with the Blue Collar Foundation as we try to raise enough support to fund higher education for 100 deserving students.
On 16 June 1976, the youth rose up and changed the course of history in South Africa. Many years later, the #FeesMustFall movement forced authorities to pay attention to their struggle for free education. We believe that this generation has it within them to drive our country forward and meet the challenges facing South Africa today.
At the Blue Collar Foundation, our main focus is to encourage the youth to dream beyond their circumstances and believe in themselves.
We’re filled with hope and optimism about South Africa and if we want to move forward as a country we need to stand with young people and empower them for the future.
